Uploading HTML Documents
| Q: | How do I upload an HTML web page that I created in another program and maintain the links and formatting? Special Note: If images were included on the HTML web page these will not automatically be uploaded. Only images that are linked from a web server (i.e., web site or web page) will be viewable. If the images are not already on a web server, you will need to add them to your IowaPages account. For more information, please read steps 22-34 of "4. District Domain Name
| Q. | Can we have our original District Domain Name instead of "iowapages.org"? |
| A. | Here is an example of a DNS entry that will forward a district web page from www.districtname.k12.ia.us to the iowapages.org web server. The sample entry is highlighted in bold in the example. The word districtname should be replaced by the district name and the entry should be placed above the $ORIGIN districtname.k12.ia.us. statement. This statement should work with Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux servers. $ORIGIN . $TTL 86400 ; 1 day districtname.k12.ia.us IN SOA dns.aea.k12.ia.us. administrator.districtname.k12.ia.us. Edit Table Error
| Q. | When I click on the Edit table button I receive an error. How do I fix this error? |
| A. | First check your table to see if you have included a link that points to a web page you created with IowaPages. If so, does the title of the web page include any special characters (e.g., &, $, %, etc.)? (If you do not know the answer to this question, click on the Site Organizer button and locate the web page and click on the "Page Properties" link.) If the answer to this question is "yes," edit the page name and remove the special character(s). If you answered "no," please contact the Development and Design Supervisor by email or at 1-800-542-8375 x7637. |
